Server room racks and power installation

The problem
Cabling in the old server room was layered on top of itself until nothing could be traced. There was no temperature measurement, and an air-conditioning failure overnight went unnoticed until the next morning.
What we did
- Re-planned the rack layout, with power and data on separate trays
- Installed racks, PDUs and a UPS, load tested before handover
- Fitted temperature, humidity and floor water-leak sensors
- Alerts go to a LINE group once a reading stays out of range for more than five minutes
The result
- The team knows as soon as temperature starts climbing, instead of waiting for equipment to shut down
- Any cable can be found in seconds thanks to labelling and as-built drawings
- Historical data is available for planning the next expansion
Delivered: as-built rack and cabling drawings · UPS load test report · a guide to configuring the alerts
